When will another American Man win a Major??

i think we can all agree that American tennis has had some of the best players to ever play the game. From the brash and aggressive Connors, McEnroe, and Agassi, to the calm, cool, and collected Sampras. But that was 17 years ago. Today (January 8th, 2018), as I am writing this article, 11 American men are ranked inside the Top 100 of the ATP Ranking, but no grand slam champions.

I am not bashing the USTA or any American player. I am just reminiscing about the "glory days." The United States Davis Cup usually had one or two grand slam winners. Now it has people that can barely make it past the fourth round! Don't get me wrong, competition has gotten even stronger over the last 10 years. I am patiently waiting for the day that American men's tennis can finally lift a grand slam trophy and make their idols proud. When do you think that will happen?
What about the women's side? I'm not worried about the women. The future couldn't look brighter for the United States. Somehow the US is able to find and develop a female newcomer every year that can make the Top 50 within the first year on tour. Right now there are 11 woman ranked inside the Top 100 just like the men except the women have won 10+ grand slam titles, and the 2017 US Open semifinals saw 3 of 4 Americans players. With the likes of Amanda Anisimova (who is just 17), Sofia Kenin (who won the Auckland Doubles title with Genie Bouchard), and Madison Keys (2017 US Open Runner-up) there is more than hope, it is a real pipeline of current and future champions.
