COVID Collins is Back, Djokovic Dominates, Meet Altmaier - Day 7 Recap and Results
Yes... it's been a couple of days since my last recap. A birthday weekend takes a lot out of you. But a lot of tennis has been played and some results have been standing out more than others. Danielle Collins for instance, the woman who violated the COVID19 rules for World Team Tennis, has just upset 11 seed Muguruza and possibly a favorite for this year's French Open title. The American beat Niculescu, Tauson and will now face off against 30 seed Tunisian Ons Jabeur in the next round.
Meet Daniel Altmaier, a man who never won a grand slam singles match in his career, has now entered into the Round of 16 in this year's French Open draw. The 186th ranked player in the world is probably one of the biggest stories at this year's tournament. "He became the fourth man to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam as a qualifier after Lee Hyung-taik (2000 US Open), David Goffin (2012 Roland Garros) and Juan Ignacio Londero (2019 Roland Garros) also achieved the feat."
