Rublev and Tsitsipas Survive, Tauson is the Real Deal, Mlandenovic is ROBBED - Day 3 of RG

A long day for Day three at the grounds of Roland Garros. To give you a perspective of how close tournaments are, Rublev and Tsitsipas played a lengthy three-set final in Hamburg just two days before they played their first-round matches in Paris. Barely 48 hours later, Rublev battles a tough American, Sam Querrey and eventually wins after going down two sets to love. You can say the same thing to Tsitsiapas. The "Greek God" was down to former promising Spaniard Munar and found another gear to beat him in the fifth set. The resilience of both these players shows us how hard it is to constantly travel and find another way to win on one of the biggest stages in tennis.

Meet Clara Tauson. A 17-year-old teenager from Denmark who just beat in form Jennifer Brady, 9-7 in the third set. Tauson won the 2019 Junior Australian Open and is a very promising prospect on the WTA tour. Her uncle, Michael Tauson, represented their country at the 1998 Summer Olympics shows how athletic her family is. Her match against Brady really defined how composed she is on the big stage. Saving two match points down 5-6 in the third set to then hold and win later on. With her big groundstrokes and smart tactics, the Denmark prodigy could quite possibly make a run at this year's Roland Garros.

Last but certainly not least, let's talk about the Mlandenovic match. The French woman is up 5-1 in the first set, ready to take the first set with a set point. Hits an unbelievable drop shot against Siegemund and starts walking over to her bench. But the point isn't over... even though the ball has clearly doubled bounced, the umpire says Siegemund got to the ball on one bounce and gives the point to the German. Let's just say that was the beginning of the end. Momentum had shifted against the home town favorite and Siegemund took the match in straight sets.
